At BA Energy Solutions, we are pleased to celebrate another academic achievement by a member of our team.

Our consultant, Débora Belén Malisani, has earned a Master's Degree in Energy from the Center for the Study of Energy Regulatory Activity (CEARE) at the University of Buenos Aires, following the successful defense of her thesis, which received the highest distinction, "Distinguished."
Her research, titled "Argentine Electricity Tariff Reviews in the Energy Transition: Challenges and Potential Adaptations," examines how electricity distribution tariff review processes could evolve to address the new challenges posed by the energy transition.

The study is based on a fundamental transformation taking place across the sector: electricity distribution networks are evolving from a predominantly passive, one-way function toward an increasingly active role in the management of power systems. The integration of distributed generation, electric mobility, active demand management, grid digitalization, and growing requirements for service quality and system resilience are creating new needs in terms of investment, operation, information management, and coordination.

Against this backdrop, the thesis identifies the methodological and institutional limitations of the tariff frameworks currently applied in Argentina and analyzes the regulatory experiences of Colombia, Spain, and the United Kingdom, extracting principles that could be adapted to the Argentine context. These include a more forward-looking regulatory approach, the recognition and monitoring of investment plans, remuneration based on the regulated asset base in service, and the incorporation of incentives related to efficiency, service quality, loss reduction, and innovation.

This research represents a valuable contribution to the technical discussion on the modernization of Argentina's electricity sector and reflects BA Energy Solutions' ongoing commitment to applied knowledge, the professional development of its team, and the design of solutions that support a sustainable energy transition.
